Leonie’s research interests include nanoporous materials and heterogeneous photocatalysis. She is interested in the synthesis and fundamental properties of these materials with the overall goal of gaining control over the morphology, ordering, pore sizes and their influence on photocatalytic activity.
Leonie studied chemistry at the University of Münster, Germany (2009-2014). She joined the group in 2014 for her master thesis working with mesoporous titania. In 2015 she moved with the group to Vienna University of Technology, Austria, to continue her PhD on mesoporous transition metal oxides and nitrides for photocatalytic hydrogen production. Since 2018 she is working as PostDoc in the group.
