Bernhard received his Bachelor and Master Degree in Physics (2020) from the University of Vienna, Austria. The same year he received a PhD position at the Vienna University of Technology, Austria.
Bernhard has a background in electron microscopy and two-dimensional materials such as graphene and monolayer MoTe2. His current research focus lies with the CVD growth of graphene on steel substrates and its use as a corrosion barrier. Additionally he studies ice nucleation behavior on graphene covered metal substrates.
