Dogukan H. Apaydin obtained his PhD degree from the Johannes Kepler University Linz in 2018. His dissertation focused on the heterogeneous carbon dioxide capture/reduction as well as oxygen reduction using organic pigments and conjugated molecules.  Afterwards, he joined IST Austria as a postdoctoral researcher, working on the catalytic reduction of carbon dioxide using alloy nanocrystals. In June 2020 he joined the Eder Group at TU Wien as a sub-group leader. His research focuses on the heterogeneous photo-electrocatalysis of carbon dioxide utilizing hybrid electrodes.
